Eight new research projects within Organic Food and Farming Systems selected

ICROFS has received 20 strong Organic RDD 7 applications. Eight projects have now been selected.

In May 2021 ICROFS received 20 applications for new Organic RDD research projects. The Danish Organic RDD Research Programme is coordinated by ICROFS in collaboration with GUDP.

The total amount from the 20 applications combined was DKK 131 million. DKK 48 million was available in the Organic RDD 7 pool, and eight of the projects have now been selected by the ICROFS board.

“We received very strong applications, so it has certainly not been an easy process to select the new research projects. We look forward to follow the projects in the coming years - and we are incredibly happy that the pool of 48 million gave us the opportunity to support as many as eight new research projects," says Jørn Jespersen, Chairman of the Board, ICROFS.

Climate, environment, biodiversity, and animal welfare are focus areas in the eight new Organic RDD 7 projects.

"ICROFS is looking forward to working with farmers, advisers, consumers, companies, researchers and authorities, all of whom are integrated parties in the projects," says Jakob Sehested, Director, ICROFS.

The eight new Organic RDD projects are:

BOOST
Boosting local production of organic high quality grain.

CROPCUT
