Job as assistant project coordinator and fundraiser

This 12 month position will include assistance to the projects or activities that ICROFS is responsible for as coordinator or is otherwise engaged in, as well as to the development of research and dissemination activities within the field of organic agriculture and food systems internationally with focus on Africa.

Job description
Responsibilities will partly relate to the coordination of the project ‘Productivity and Growth in Organic Value Chains (ProGrOV)’, but also involve a range of other project tasks and activities and creating new projects.

These tasks include:
• Internal and external project communication and information
• Assistance with the administrative and financial management of the projects
• Organization and planning of annual workshops and follow up with relevant reports and articles
• Responsible for annual progress reports and general reporting
• Monitoring and follow-up on progress of projects’ activities
• Information and research dissemination (synthesis papers/reports)
• Assisting in editing of research reports and articles
• Fundraising with focus on developmental research projects, including development of collaboration with relevant organisations
• Provision of inputs to international workshops and conferences
• Maintenance and development of user guides for the organic research depository Organic Eprints
• Assisting in research program management in particular in relation to organizing review of applications and status reports. 

Qualifications 
A degree within the field of biology, agriculture, economics or social sciences and preferably with exposure to or experience from agricultural development, international development or related fields.

Has experience in project coordination, communication and reporting, working with international partners, knowledge and experience in development research projects related to agriculture. Have an interest and flair for fundraising and seeking collaborations between science and development.

Oral and written fluency in English.
