The Project Coordinator will be assisted by a Steering Committee which will consist of the leaders and co-leader of the four work packages. The steering committee will be responsible for supervising and monitoring all relevant aspects of the project, especially the information flow between the different work packages and the financial aspects.
As a general rule, decisions will be made by consensus. If no consensus can be reached, decisions will be taken by simple majority. However, in case of strong disagreement among the project partners or when fulfilment of the grant agreement is endangered, IFOAM EU, after having consulted FiBL, has the ultimate right to decide.
The steering committee will meet approximately every six months, if possible face-to-face in conjunction with a general project meeting, otherwise online in a conference call.
Each work package has a leader and co-leader, with one being a scientific institute and the other a farmer organisation. This will assure a multi-actor approach at all levels. The work package leaders, assisted by the co-leaders, will manage the progress and communication within the work packages as well as communication among them. All WP leaders have substantial experience with international collaboration.
In case of necessary amendments of the work plan due to unforeseen problems, the WP leaders will elaborate suggestions for alternative solutions, in accordance with the project coordinator, the other participants involved in the WP and the Commission.
