German professor joins AU Food, Aarslev

A seminar on apple diseases and storage rots including a display of "attractive" fruit rots will be held as the inaugural lecture by Aarhus University's new affiliated professor Roland W.S. Weber.

Apple diseases are the pivots of Roland Weber's speech “A new look at old rots – research on apple diseases,” when he helds his inaugural lecture at AU Food in Aarslev, June 15.

Weber's speech is a part of a workshop about apple diseases. Roland Weber contributes with two presentations on apple diseases and water heat treatment as a way to avoid storage rots.

Afterwards, Marianne Bertelsen and Merete Edelenbos, from AU Food, tell about prevention of pests and diseases and how heat treatment can affect the fruit quality.

Both presentations are based on results from the organic research projects coordinated by ICROFS:
FruitGrowth (Organic RDD1) and ProtectFruit (Organic RDD2).
